New MONOSAN® format MDR1 P-gp (ABCB1) clone JSB-1

We are proud to announce another new format of our multidrug resistance antibodies in our MONOSAN® product range. Next to the MRPm5 and BXP-53 we have now the antibody MDR1 P-gp (ABCB1) clone JSB-1 available in 1 ml (250 µg/ml).

Tumour cell insensitivity to anticancer drugs frequently appears as multidrug resistance (MDR), associated with overexpression of one or more of a set of at least 10 different molecules, causing reduced drug levels at the intracellular target sites. They include transmembrane transporter proteins such as P glycoprotein, MRP1-9 and BCRP. In addition, the lung-resistance protein, recently identified as the major vault protein, has been associated with MDR. The Monosan monoclonal antibodies that specifically recognize most of these proteins, can be used to try to identify their roles in clinical drug resistance, and also explore their occurrence in normal human tissues and physiology.

The antibody MDR1 P-gp (ABCB1) clone JSB-1 reacts with a conserved cytoplasmic epitope of the plasma membrane-associated 170-180 kD glycoprotein, the expression of which is strongly correlated with the degree of multi-drug-resistance (MDR) derived MDR cell lines and human MDR cell lines, including cell lines derived from lung, ovaries and B cell lymphomas. Crossreacts with chinese hamster. No crossreactivity with mouse or rat.

Routine MDR/JSB-1 staining of cyto-/histological tumor specimens may contribute to customizing individual cancer therapies by predicting cytostatic drug (un-)responsiveness. P-glycoprotein positivity provides an indication to consider alternative therapeutic approaches.

The antibody MDR1 P-gp (ABCB1) clone JSB-1is now available as 1 ml (Approx. 250 μg/ml) 0.2 μm filtered antibody solution in PBS, containing 0.02% sodium azide and 0.1% bovine serum albumin.

Ordering information:
Cat. nr. MON9011P, Mouse anti MDR1 P-gp (ABCB1) clone JSB-1

Related products:
Cat. nr. MON9011C, Mouse IgG1 negative control antibody clone CT6

The MON9011C can be used as a negative control for the JSB-1 monoclonal antibody because it is of the same IgG subclass. It does not react with the 170-180 kD glycoprotein which is strongly correlated with the degree of Multi-Drug-Resistance.
